Tile and Pavement Regrouting Ballarat

Cracked, crumbling and weed-filled grout joints rebuilt on driveways, walkways, patios and tiled floors across Ballarat.

Solid Joints, Solid Surface

Paving and floor tiles rely on the grout between them. When joints crack, crumble or wash out, the tile edges lose support, water gets underneath and weeds move into the gaps. We regrout driveways, walkways, patios, indoor tiled floors and commercial paved areas across Ballarat, stripping out the failed grout and rebuilding the joints with Mapei grout systems.

Ballarat jobs are booked ahead, and we travel up for them with the travel built into the price and no call-out fee. Paving is quoted on the size of the area and the condition of the old joints, so tell us as much as you can when you enquire.

What a Ballarat Winter Does to Open Joints

Ballarat winters are cold and wet, with plenty of frosty mornings. Rain soaks into cracked or worn joints on outdoor paving, freezes overnight and expands, then thaws again during the day. Winter after winter, that cycle pushes joints further apart and loosens the edges of the tiles and pavers around them.

Indoors the damage comes from wear rather than weather. Grout in kitchens, laundries and hallways erodes under daily foot traffic until the joints sit below the tile edge and hold dirt a mop cannot reach. Rebuilding joints before tiles start moving keeps it a regrouting job, not a relaying job.

FAQs

Paving and Floor Regrouting Questions

Can you regrout outdoor paving in winter?

Outdoor grout needs dry conditions to cure properly, so paving work depends on the weather, and in a Ballarat winter that can mean waiting for a dry spell. Indoor tiled floors are not affected by the weather and can be booked at any time of year.

Will regrouting fix pavers that have sunk?

Regrouting fixes the joints, not the base underneath. If pavers or tiles have dropped or tilted because the ground below has moved, new grout will not level them. We will tell you that when we look at the job rather than grout over the problem.

Why are weeds and moss growing in my paving?

Because the joints have opened up. Once grout wears or cracks, dirt and seeds settle in the gap and moisture keeps them growing, especially on shaded paving through a wet winter. Pulling the weeds out treats the symptom. Rebuilding the joint takes away the space they grow in.

How long does a paving or floor regrout take?

It depends on the size of the area and how far the old joints have broken down. A small patio is a very different job to a long driveway, so we give you a timeline with your quote instead of guessing over the phone.

Do you regrout commercial paved areas?

Yes. We work on commercial paved and tiled areas as well as homes. Let us know roughly how big the area is and how it is used when you get in touch, so we can quote it properly.

Is Ballarat inside your service area?

Yes. Ballarat is part of our service area, including suburbs such as Wendouree, Sebastopol, Alfredton, Lucas and Buninyong. We travel up for Ballarat work, travel is included in the quote, and there is no call-out fee.
